THE SPINNING CONTACT POINT MECHANISM ™
Bmac has developed its own contact point mechanism which has been registered as a Utility Model in Japan.* A disk-shaped contact point is inserted between the moving blade and the still blade, along with a high- precision flanged ball bearing and a split nut. This innovative parts structure and sound theoretical basis make it possible to achieve unprecedented operability. The scissors fit comfortably in the hand, and are easy to open and close, making them scissors which are "second to none." * Japanese Utility Model Registration No. 3120056

SILKY

THE SILKY CONTACT POINT MECHANISM ™
This patented* original mechanism has a springy resin packing inserted between the moving blade and the still blade which are finely polished on the inner sides. The resin packing prevents friction between these metal parts. This packing, in combination with ball bearings, provides a remarkable smoothness, in keeping with the name "silky." Since the contact point itself is sealed, hair debris is shut out during cutting. The scissors feel like a brand new product for a long time. * Japanese Patent No. 4099416

This is an orthodox single contact point mechanism which uses ball bearings. At first glance, it appears to be an ordinary mechanism. WHY ARE BMAC SCISSORS DIFFERENT FROM ALL THE REST?

THE SECRET IS BMAC'S "SUPER GOLD 2" STEEL

The process for synthesizing materials for conventional scissors involves melting steel, adding various alloys, pouring the mixture into a mold, and hardening. This approach is inexpensive. However, the quality of the material is not uniform, since the various alloys have differing specific gravities and melting points.

  1. The process for synthesizing "Super Gold 2" employs a powder metallurgy technology for "atomizing" molten steel, to form very tiny grains, that are very finely and thoroughly distributed uniformly in a durable tempered base material (martensite).
